What is success?

Is success wealth, a title, or a position? Or is it what you own, who you know, or a list of goals and accomplishments? Is it your education and all your degrees? What is success to you?

God has goals for each of us and the Bible gives us instructions regarding our roles. God asks us to develop our character qualities along with doing kind deeds, goodness, and helping others; to grow in our knowledge of Him; to use our gifts in service, minister to many and be a witness. He tells us to be an ideal worker on our jobs, to be helpful and loving to family members and others, so on and on our roles go. We must "keep on keeping on" in fulfilling our desire to be what God wants us to be and do.

Success starts with following God's Word.

If we choose to follow God's instructions and advice; He assures us of "good success". In other words you will have wisdom and a successful outcome when you fully focus on God's Word and follow His promises. His blessing and success is ours!

God and His word are the starting point for any success. When God and His Word dwell in your heart, in your thoughts and guides your day; He will bless all your efforts. You must remember that the Word has power, it is a powerful tool.

The Bible Is ____.

• The Bible is God's word: II Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God". The Bible is God's breath straight to us from His heart to ours.
• The Bible is alive: God's word shapes our lives, it's life-changing.
• The Bible is a force: it works in us and for us.
• The Bible is a defense against temptation: we can battle against Satan's attacks with the Word.
• The Bible is our guide: its truths can lead us. Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet..."

God's Definition of Success

Joshua 1:8 tells us that success, according to God, is knowing God's Word, reading and studying it, thinking on it, obeying it, and speaking it and following it with all our heart.

When you follow God's word you are succeeding in His eyes and useful to Him for His purposes. It may not measure up to the world's way, but it is well pleasing to the Father. We must constantly keep Him in the forefront of our thoughts. His Word should be the focus of our daily lives and apply its wisdom at all times.

The Bible is truly the starting point for any and all success. So if you truly love God, follow Him, obey His Holy Word and you will be successful in the eyes of God!
